We are a small independent foundry in Atlanta, Georgia. Since 2016 we have drawn text faces for newspapers, university presses, museums and a handful of very patient brand teams.
A workhorse text serif with short extenders and a large x-height. Drawn for newsprint, holds up on screen.
Neutral without being anonymous. Tight spacing, tabular figures, six widths of numerals for tables.
High-contrast titling drawn from lettering on 1920s brick facades along Marietta Street.
A fixed-width companion for documentation and code listings. Distinct l, 1 and I; dotted zero.
Most of our year goes into commissioned work: bespoke families, Cyrillic and Greek extensions, variable-font conversion, and hinting for embedded displays.
Typical engagements run twelve to twenty weeks. We take on four or five a year.
Desktop, web, app and broadcast licences are sold per family. Web licences are one-time and self-hosted — no tracking script, no monthly pageview counting.
Educational and non-profit rates are available on request.
Meridian is two designers and a very old cat, working out of a converted warehouse on the west side of Atlanta.
